Dana Sela: "Tulips"

The Artist

Dana Sela creates paintings, drawings and one of a kind block prints from her converted barn studio. Her work reflects her love and great respect for the simple beauties in the living world around us. A rhythmic pattern, a delicate line, a bold play of color, a soft fold of fabric, or a sweet familiar smile… we don’t have to look far to find inspiration and a world of emotion! Because, sometimes, in this ever-complex world, it is okay to just relish in the easy, effortless, sweet visual pleasures that surround us everyday.

After graduating from SUNY Purchase with a BFA, Dana continued her studies at The College of Saint Rose where she receive her Masters in Art Education. She has a passion for sharing her love and knowledge of art with others. Through art, Dana feels we can connect as humans, creating a more unified, peaceful and exquisite world.

The Mural

When working large I like to think of my work as a larger than life coloring book page. Bold, patterned outlines. Sweet, simple tulips. Warm, bright colors. Cheerful imagery during a hard time.

I took park in this project because I think the Capital Region needs more art! I am passionate about getting involved with my local community and collaborating with as many create people as possible. I had a great experience! Everyone I worked with was helpful and kind.
