TROY FARMERS MARKET SEEKING NATIONAL RECOGNITION DURING NATIONAL FARMERS MARKET WEEK
Mayor’s Proclamation Enlists Public Help to Celebration Troy Market Nationally, New Market Maps Available in Print, Online
TROY, N.Y. (08/09/19) — Tomorrow, Saturday Aug. 10, is the culmination of National Farmers Market Week promoted by the national nonprofit advocacy group, The Farmers Market Coalition.
To mark the occasion, Troy Mayor Patrick Madden has proclaimed Aug. 10 to be “Celebrate Troy Waterfront Farmers Market Day.” The proclamation also encourages visitors to help Troy’s farmers market gain national recognition through the American Farmland Trust’s 11th annual Famers Market Celebration.
If enough people share their farmers market photos and stories on social media using the tag #OnMyFork and #troymarket, the American Farmland Trust will award the “People’s Choice” to The Troy Waterfront Farmers Market. The social media posts must be made between now and Sept. 21.
People can also share their farmers market stories and photos directly with the American Farmland Trust at https://markets.farmland.org/on-my-fork/
NEW: 2019 OUTDOOR MARKET MAPS
The Troy Waterfront Farmers Market recently printed 15,000 map-brochures to help visitors locate its 100+ street vendors as well as the brick-and-mortar shops that line the market area. The map also indicates the location of parking lots & garages, restrooms, ATM, and special activity areas.
These color maps are brochure size when folded and 11” x 17” when fully open. They are available at the Market Information table (on River Street in Monument Square) every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Takeaway maps are also available in the brochure holders that are clipped to the A-Frame enlarged market map signs at select entrances to the market area.
There is also an interactive Google Map version that anyone explore on their desktop, laptop, smart phone or mobile device at: https://www.troymarket.org/map
Production of the 2019 Outdoor Troy Waterfront Farmers Market map was made possible with support from River Street Market, a premium food hall at 433 River Street in Downtown Troy. http://www.riverstreetmkt.com/
