MURAL PROJECT
More than two dozen artists of New York’s Capital Region have helped bring life to our new home at the former Price Chopper in the Lansingburgh neighborhood of Troy, N.Y. The project is ongoing — you might even catch an artist at work when you visit the market.
Projects range from 400 square feet to less than 40 square feet and are located throughout the market. Artists were asked to create pieces that related to the market or the Lansingburgh neighborhood. Check out photos of the murals and read about the artists and their visions below!
We think this project captures the spirit of adaptation our community has had to embrace during this pandemic. The market had to move several times since March, but this has brought us closer to new customers and communities.
Sponsors
This project is made possible by our partners, the Arts Center of the Capital Region and the Troy Architectural Project, Inc. (TAP). The project is sponsored by The Collar Factory Lofts by Redburn Development Partners, The Church artist studios and event space, Troy Innovation Garage, Bard & Baker, and 1 Monument Square by Hoboken Brownstone Co. The Arts Center of the Capital Region, Hatchet Hardware and Passonno Paints donated painting supplies and MAC equipment donated for the use of two lifts. Additional support comes from small donations collected at the market from vendors and customers. ( Read more about The Mural Project. )
